
Chris's background began in the 80s with ECV Pro Image in Crows Nest, Sydney, where the company was renowned for producing some of the most creative commercials and music clips in Australia. International bands sought a stronger presence on Music TV, often visiting Australia to collaborate with some of the industry's most experienced creative directors, such as Russell Mulcahy, at a time when MTV's influence on the music industry was firmly established. MTV played a crucial role in the global expansion of music videos during the 1980s, alongside local programs like Countdown, Sounds, and Rage.
In the late 80s, Chris spent four years at SBS TV in Sydney. His versatile role encompassed tape operating, editing, production, and on-location production for all the shows on air. He contributed to significant projects, including the 1990 Federal election coverage, various Tour de France events, World Cup broadcasts, and the daily World News. This diverse experience in video marketing and live video events has greatly shaped his career in the industry.
